About Us
I have always appreciated things of beauty - beautiful scenery, animals, a sunny warm day without bugs (all too rare around here), soothing music...

At a young age I made trinkets out of colored gymp, learning how to braid it in different ways to get different shapes. I also made braided leather horse bridles, but wasn't drawn to making jewelry until I was living in Hawaii. From simple beaded pieces, to chainmaille, wire wrapping, and using higher end gemstones, there's a never-ending progression of pretties to play with, new ideas to try, and techniques to learn.

Making jewelry is relaxing, therapeutic actually, and I never cease to be amazed at the endless variety of colors, materials, and textures that can be used to create beautiful things... to me, all gifts from God. As time went on, I wanted to play with wire-wrapping and chainmaille - chain maille has such elegance, yet the basic weaves are often surprisingly simple. The options are endless and the results can be incredible.

A couple of years ago I took a class in making lampwork glass beads. It's fun to see the glass rods melt, wind the blobs around a mandrel & then see how the colors react in the flame of the torch. As much as I enjoy it, I don't have a good setup for proper ventilation, so I'm limited to torching in good weather until I can maybe hopefully someday have a real studio!

All lampwork beads I use are either made by myself or are purchased from SRA (self-representing) artists who have annealed their beads in a kiln to increase the durability of the glass. The quality and beauty of artisan-made lampwork far surpasses that of the cheap imports that have flooded the market - many imports are not annealed, therefore those beads have structural weaknesses so are more likely to break.

I love what can be done with metals and have been wanting to take some classes in metal smithing for a long time. I'm hoping to do that in the near future.

It is very rewarding when people enjoy my work enough to want to purchase and wear it, give it as a gift, and even take the time to find me at a show to see if I might have something else they like - to all of you I say THANK YOU!!!

I work from my home, and most of my sales are at juried art fairs in the midwest. I am also focused on growing this online business. This isn't full time for me (I have a day job), but I love doing this and as it develops, who knows, maybe some day that will change. It would be wonderful not to have to drive to work!
