This wonderful book features more than 800 recipes for fine dishes using today's advanced cooking method.

For the first time, the microwave user will be able to prepare wholesome, elegant and attractive dishes that reflect today's sophicated style. Here are some recipes for Chilled Steamed Mussels with Herb Sauce, Corn Pudding with Jalapino Salsa, Lean Fish Fillets Wrapped in Lettuce Leaves, and Rich Chocolate Cake. A comprehensive cookbook, MASTERING MICROWAVE COOKERY also includes recipes jams and preserves and a full range of dressings and sauces

The authors, Marcia Cone and Thelma Snyder, are experienced teachers who provide the basic instruction and understanding that will make the reader as comfortable and natural with microwave cooking as she or he has been with conventional cooking.

Some recipes are categorized as confidence builders, easy to execute but also designed to develop skill, while others are categorized as teaching recipes which advance and expand the understanding of microwave principles as applied to fine cooking. In the end, the reader becomes an expert while producing delicious dishes.

Among the book's features:

A full explanation of microwaves; Rules of Thumb----simple techniques for calculating cooking times; At-A-Glance Cooking Charts for routine operations such as reheating, increasing or cutting recipe quantities, and arranging food for best results; Basic Instructions for everyday preparations of the most popular cuts of meat and fish, pasta, vegetables, and eggs; Doness Chart; A Guide to converting recipes from conventional ovens to the microwave; and answers to safety questions.

This book was published in 1986 by Simon and Schuster I think it was the first printing. The book is clean and in like new condition. The dust jacket has some tares, mainly on the back cover. There are 599 pages of recipes and 28 pages in the index. I highly recommend this book. ENJOY
