This lovely pair of W. German earrings, C. 1950's has a faceted square light blue glass stone with striations of light and darker blue. The style is Renaissance Revival, with the stones wired to a gilded filigree mount and is accented by pale lavender enameling in a shell motif, seed pearls and shimmering pale sapphire rhinestone chatons. Marked W. Germany on the clips, these earrings measure 1 1/4" by 1" wide and are in excellent condition. These earrings appear on p. 125 of "Forties and Fifties Popular Jewelry" by Roseanne Ettinger.
