This late 19th Century Victorian bar pin, would be classified as "mourning" jewelry. Black jewelry was very popular in the Victorian era, after the death of Prince Albert. It was worn in Great Britain for almost 50 years, and was also popular in the United States after the Civil War. The stones are made of glass to resemble the jet that was mined in Whitbey, England. This C. 1915-1920 Chromium link bracelet consists of half-barrel shaped ornately patterned filigree flexible links with three large rose pink faceted octagon shaped glass stones set in bezel mounts in the center. Each stone measures close to 9/16". The bracelet is 6 3/4" long (plus the push in box-clasp tongue) by 3/4" wide. The wearable length is 6 3/4". This unusual set consists of high domed ruby colored cabochon cut rhinestones bezel set into rolled gold back square mountings. The cuff links measure 7/8" and the studs are about 3/4". These are C. 1930's and are stunning! Excellent condition. The cufflinks are marked with the Dolan and Bullock mark, Providence, R.I. Proud Member of the Vintage Fashion Guild.

I believe this is a genuine moonstone set in brass. The pin is 1 1/2". The clasp has probably been changed. The metal is a rosy gold color but it smells like brass.
