Amazing vintage Van Briggle find! Matt white art pottery Deer and Fawn lamp with original butterfly shade. This beauty hails from the Arts and Crafts period, where nature was an inspiration for artistic form. The shade has natural dried plants and variety of butterflies! The lamp is done in almost an Art Deco sense. Beautiful matt white pottery! The fixture is copper. The lamp is hallmarked with the Van Briggle signature shown in a close up photo.

This piece is in excellent condition! The lamp works great. The cord is solid and not dried out. That said I recommend replacing all electric cords on vintage lighting for added safety. Also, I recommend using a low watt bulb. NO chips, dings, flakes, cracks, or flea bites!

The lamp measures about 21 inches tall overall. The pottery is about 10 inches tall by 7 inches wide. The shade is about 14 inches in diameter.

The shade had the upper layer of raffia replaced as the old was completely deteriorated. The remainder is original and intact. No rips to the shade. The butterflies and plants are intact and whole. The bottom raffia is original and 99% intact. It is a little dried out but not displeasing. The shade is held together in the back with small copper rivets which are pretty cool.

It is very hard to find a completely original Van Briggle lamp in this condition! Makes a wonderful mood light! It gives off a warm and comforting glow!
