Brown transfer-ware footed covered casserole. A beautiful scrolled design, in relief, decorates the lid, handles, body and foot. A brown floral, leaf, and twig transfer pattern embellish the lid and body. There is no hallmark, so I am unsure of the maker. The casserole is heavier than porcelain, I believe it is Ironstone or a heavier china.

The casserole measures 10 1/4 inches from handle to handle and is 7 inches wide. The lid measures 8 3/4 inches by 6 7/8 inches. The entire piece stands 5 inches from bottom of foot to the top of the lid's ornate handle. The casserole is in excellent condition! NO chips, dings, flakes, cracks, or flea bites. There is a little browning to the lid edges and handles, one area on the body, not bad at all. NO crazing!

This piece is great for serving covered vegetables and other warm dishes. The pattern makes it great for Thanksgiving or everyday use!
