This is an oldie but goodie! Presented for you is a Antique Meriden Britannia Company silver plate Teapot! The Teapot is made in the classical urn style and dates to circa 1855. It has a gorgeous but simple matching urn finial! It abounds in details, from the greek key banding to beaded boarder, this teapot is fully loaded! The handle and spout are also ornate. The handle has spacers to keep it from getting hot. The inside has the spout covered with a strainer, so the tea leaves do not muddy your cup of tea! It has a hinged lid. This is an amazing example of early American silver plating at it's finest!
The teapot is in excellent condition for being over 150 years old! There is wear of the silver plating from years of polishing. Still, it retains at lease 70% of the silver. No dents, dings, holes, or damage!
The teapot measures 10 1/2 inches tall. It measures 5 inches at it's widest.
Truly an awesome example of American Antique Silver Plating! A forgotten art that is just waking from it's long slumber!
