Pair of late 19th Century French Renaissance leather embossed armchairs. From the earliest times chairs were status symbols and were for the sole use of royalty, the nobility, or the head of the household. The appearance of the pair shown here is of importance and significance. Note the beautiful patina of the wood and the good condition of the embossed leather. Measures:28w x 23d x 51h. Circa 1890.
