Here is an exceptional French Louis XV mantel made up of a very rare marble known as "Noir Belge" or "Belgian Black." It is a traditional form of the period, with scrolled acanthus leaves and shell designs. This piece is in immaculate overall condition and has tremendous decorative appeal. The glossy finish and black color are suited to complement any motif. Measuring 57w X 43h X 16d, circa 1870. Truly a rare and priceless find! Serious inquiries are welcome.
