This is an antique dough bin from France, commonly referred to as a petrin. It is made of European walnut, in exquisite overall condition. The front drops down revealing a great use for storage. Petrin's were mostly used to store grain in the winter. It is locking and has a great Provincial structure with elaborate carvings. French craftsmanship at its best, very functional for any design! This chair has exquisite detailing with floral, acanthus leaf, cherub, and urn carvings covering the entire frame.
