c.1820 English School; a portrait miniature of a Gentleman; watercolor on ivory; set in a gold pendant frame, the reverse glazed to reveal an arrangement of hair curls with a seed pearl clasp; 2.75 x 2.1ins (7.2 x 5.5cm) visible image size

CONDITION: Portrait: colours and skin-tones fresh and unfaded; the glass is quite scratched; the edge of the ivory can be just seen within the rim of the glass, revealing a tiny flake of paint missing at 7 o'clock and a little nick in the ivory at 4 o'clock, made when it was cut to size. Hair arrangement: the hair curls are nicely arranged and with the seed pearl clasp are in good condition; the green "grass" strands and string have deteriorated and migrated a little. Frame: in good condition with secure bale.
