I would like to begin by saying that I am not an expert on Satsuma. That being said, and from what little I do know about it, this seems to be a nice quality pair of vases in excellent condition, with all of the indications of good Satsuma - fine and uniform crazing of the underglaze, raised gilding, and expertly detailed artwork. I was told that they are from the Meiji period, but I don't want to say for sure. I am hoping to hear from some serious collectors who can tell me more about them. Hopefully the pictures of the marks on the bottom are clear enough to discern what these are. They are appx. 6 3/4 inches tall.
