Kyba has said that she has embraced the locals and their festivals and traditions and that is the focus of her subjects. The first of the pair is called Oaxaca Dancer IV and is dated 2001 on the back, this is the dancer with the primarily turquoise dress. The second of the pair is not named but is also of a traditional dancer.
Both are oil on canvas and painted in the vibrant colors that are so prevalent in this part of Mexico. The movement and color in these paintings is outstanding.
Kyba is originally from Canada, but has resided in Yelapa and Puerto Vallarta for the past twenty years.
Her work has been shown and collected in Canada, The U.S., Germany, Great Britain, S. America, France, and Mexico. Her work was recently accepted into the Quinta Bienal de Monterrey, Nuevo, Leon.
Collectors of her work include, but are not limited to: Cindy Crawford, Connie Stevens, Art Bank of Canada, National Film Board of Canada, The Toronto City Archives, The Language Library of Boston, and Seapal Puerto Vallarta.
Each painting measures 15"x15" and with the frame 17" x 17". They are in the original frames. These are being sold as a pair.
