Miner’s Miniature Safety Oil Lamp c. 1904
Antiques : Lamps, Lighting : Miner's Lamp : Oil Lamp
The lamp has an incised mark on the brass spout “U.S.A. Eagle Trade Mark, Pat. Mar. 29, 1904, J. Anton & Son, Monongaela, PA.” The light colored metal on the sides and bottom are typical solder joints where the brass and tin are joined. These are original solder joints. The lamp is water- tight so there are no leaks. The lid and hinge work perfectly and the lid has a tight fit. The lid has a vent hole in the center. The spout is where the wick goes and the hook is for attaching to a hat or object. It measures 3 in. tall. This is probably one of the finest examples of this lamp available.
