This is a heavy crystal salt with scalloped feet. There is a large bubble and several small bubbles in the glass, and 3 tiny chips on the foot edge, as well as straw marks. Age imperfections are typical for Sandwich pieces this old. The piece can be found on page 245 “Sandwich Glass By Ruth Webb Lee.”

Glass: Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) This is beautifully-shaped compote by Westmoreland Glass, rare pattern #908, c. 1900. The base has a crosshatched star; the notched-stem with a faceted knob supports a shallow bowl; the bowl has a large, rayed star in the bottom, and a hobstar and cane pattern around the rim. The piece stands 6 ½ in. tall with a diameter of 5 7/8 in. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or cloudiness.
