This is quite a find! It is a rare 1949 Majestic Radio/Phono combination in it's original cabinet. It is the Model #8FM889 (CH. 8CO7D). Please look at my last picture which shows a Sam's Photofact Folder (included) which shows the same cabinet/console that I have.

It has 4 doors: Top Left - Record Player on a Slide-Out Shelf. The metal plate reads: MAJESTIC MONARCH of the AIRWAVES. There is a small switch on the front left (I believe this turns on the speaker). The right has 3 switches with two functions on each one: Start/Reject, 10/12, Auto/Manual.

Top RIght - Radio which shows BC & FM on the radio dial. There are 3 knobs under that which control: On/Off Switch, Tone Control, Volume Control, Phono-Radio Switch, Band Switch, and Tuning Control

Bottom Left: Open space for storing records, etc.

Bottom Right: Large Speaker

The cabinet measures 36” wide by 16” deep by 33” high. It is in very good condition with just minimal wear. Nothing has been done except to clean up this piece. I’m not at all knowledgeable about these units, so I’ll just tell you what I see and hear! The radio comes on and you can tune it to different stations on the FM channels. I couldn’t find anything on the BC channels. The phono also comes on and you can touch the needle and hear the static, but I couldn’t get the turntable to spin. The speaker sounds good also, although at higher volumes you hear more static. I believe it just needs some minor repairs to put it back in running order.

I'm sure I haven't listed all the information you may need on this, so please email with any questions or for additional pictures.
