This lovely Sterling Silver filagree scissor case is English. This has been identified as being made in the late 1800s. The filagree is a pattern of swirls with a figure 8 pattern on the edges and a heavier design on the point. This measures 3 inches long and is 1 3/4 inches wide. There must have been a chain on it at one time but there is none now. It did have a little button that has disappeared but the hole remains. It served no purpose that I can see. This has no markings but has been tested for metal content and does test as continental Sterling.
