1940 Football Players Salt & Pepper Shakers

Talk about knocked his block off ! That's just what happened to this comical pair of 1940's football player salt and pepper shakers. It seems the QB has the wrong ball ! Instead of handling a football, he seems to have been handed the wrong ball. The hapless receiver has lost his head! Check out the troubled look on the QB's face. I think his team definitely has the advantage. This set is a classic made in Japan.

Bright colorful primary colors make this set really stand out. Player numbers are 7 & 11. The QB stands 4.5" tall X 2" wide, while the other is just 2.5" tall at his feet X 4" wide.

Condition is very good. No chips, cracks or damage. There is some paint loss to some areas, but only minor. As in many of these sets that were produced in Japan, the painting is amateur. The base of the QB has an area to the backside that looks to not have been painted white. It is tan in color. Both still have their cork stoppers and blue and white Japan paper label.

If you collect shakers, you gotta love these.
