Authentic Nathaniel Currier "American Express Train" Commerative Plate produced by the English Company of Adams Pottery. Highly collectible as a part of America's History in transportation. It is one of the most desirable in the series of plates produced by Currier in the popular " Engravings for the People Series". Nathaniel Currier was a lithographer in New York. He is most famous in association his partner James Ives.

The plate is 10.25". Decorated in transfer and hand tinting application. Border is in Adams " wild rose" pattern, and is predominately gray in color. The hand tinting technique is well done when compared to other plates I have seen of this type.

Train commerative items are always a favorite of collectors, as is Currier and Ives. This plate would make a great table or wall piece and is waiting for your consideration.
