Free Gift Wrap Upon Request ~ Give A Unique Gift To Someone Special ~ Merry Christmas !
The cover is especially appealing. Central to the cover is an oval colored picture featuring two Victorian children, a boy and girl. The little boy is holding a fishing pole, the girl a pail. Both wearing hats and clothing of the period. Surrounding the picture is an embossed leather like material in shades of brown to orange. The embossing is very rococo in style. The latch is simple in design. A metal triangle attached to the bottom , fits over a metal knob on the top.
There are a total of 15 photos in the book. Eight are classic cardboard measuring 2.5 X 3.5. Seven are tin types. They too measure 2.5 X 3.5, although some have been resized to fit in 1.25 X 1.75" oval frame pages. The pictured subjects are almost equally divided 14 women, 15 men. A young boy and girl are among the lot. The condition of cardboard pics vary. Some lighter than others. The tin types are in good condition. Although dark, the subjects are still clear in all. Some of the photos have names around them. There are 3 blank frames. Most of the individuals pictured are relatively attractive. I would not consider any of them, undesirable in appearance ( ie UGLY). However that is my impression. I will e-mail additional photos for your consideration upon request.
Album condition is good. Outside cover has minor rubbed areas on the edges and corners. No tears, rips or splits. Latching mechanism still secure. Inner pages are intact. Only one or two have tear damage. They are browned with age, dry and brittle as well. Very fragile.
This small photo book has several appealing qualities. Its size, the cover's appeal, and the range of photo examples make this little book desirable to a collector. I consider it a unique look back into a historical period in time.
