Gorgeous Edwardian Antique Cameo Brooch/Pin with design features including Slag Glass, Cameo and embossed Brass Mount. It dates from the Art Nouveau period 1890-1915.

The brass mount, surrounding the slag glass insert is stamped with a greek key design, forget-me-nots, and beading. A round brown and white slag glass, prong set medallion, forms the backdrop for the off white, oval shaped cameo, which appears to be glass. It is the profile of a lovely Grecian woman with detailed features and tinted hair. The size of the cameo, allows the white features of the slag glass to stand out. The pin fastener is a later replacement.

Measurements are 3" X 2". Slag insert is 1.5" round. Cameo is 1" H X 3/4" L. Condition is excellent. Minute pits are in the slag, from manufacture process. Brass has antique patina. No makers mark.

I purchased this from a lovely elderly lady, who loved this brooch. She wore it all the time. This was why the pin was replaced. It is a lovely example of antique jewelry from a by-gone era. Perhaps it will become your favorite too!
