Vintage Classic Old Fashioned Santa Clause Christmas Box Ornament

Vintage, 1920-40 Christmas box, used as a tree ornament. Classic old fashioned style Santa Clause graphic decorates both sides of this dark blue and red box. Holly sprigs adorn two sides.It is six sided. Opens at both ends. Probably held Christmas cookies at one time before it's use as an ornament. Both sides have "Merry Christmas" scripted to one side, along with green holly leaf and red berry. Santa's white beard is a vivid contrast to the dark blue background.

Box measures 4.25" L, 3" W, 1.75" D. Condition is very good. Two corners appear to have tears. They are repairable. Hardly noticeable. Otherwise the box is firm, color still bright.

What a wonderful classic representation of an old fashioned Christmas. The "jolly old elf" is typical of Santa from the days of childhood. The twinkle in his eye, the rosy cheeks, and cherry nose bring back memories that last a lifetime. Here's a chance to capture those memories, and remember them in Christmas's to come.
