Early Wooden Oyster Painted Sugar Firkin Bucket

Nice early firkin bucket in oyster white paint. Wire bail handle with wood carry knob. Metal band strapping in three tiers around the outside.

10 1/2" tall x 12" diameter at the bottom x 10" diameter at top

The lid cover is in rough shape. When I found it the top was covered in a dilapidated fabric attached with upholstery brads, hence all the tiny holes around the rim. I'm not quite sure if it is the original lid but if it is not, it has been with the bottom for a very long time. Because of the rim on the inside it perhaps had a lid that sat on the inside.

The paint is chipping and worn just as it should be for piece of this age. It is very solid, sturdy and heavy.
