SOLD Early Sugar Firkin Wood Bucket No Lid Bail Handle
Early wooden sugar firkin that at one time was covered with mustard paint, but someone, sometime long ago, stripped it. There are traces of paint in grooves and around the bands. But the bottom tells the true story as they did not bother to remove the mustard from there. Oh what a lovely piece this would have been with the original paint still one it. Okay, enough about what it was and on to what it is today. Still a wonderful early piece with a dry surface. Top diameter is 8 1/2" and the bottom is 9 3/4" ~ 9" high. Unfortunately, there is no cover. Darn! There is a little bit of damage on the lowest band at the tip. Strap handle moves freely~ button caps. Overall this firkin is in very sturdy condition.
