This is a massive cameo, and weighty, too; the cameo itself is 2" x 2 2/8"; framed in the gold-link, scroll-work 14KG bezel, it measures 2" x 3" overall. It weighs 41.2 grams.

James I - 1850's, stamped on back, stamped also "Wedgwood", in black basalt; so detailed! Note the fleur-de-lis in His Majesty's crown, and the other heraldry, as well. Note his curly tresses, the waves of his beard, his features. This is a masterful work; the picture shows the fine detail, but cannot truly capture the wonder of the piece. Historic, beautiful and in excellent condition. Unique piece.
