Victorian Carved Ivory Brooch: Thistle - Circa 1900

Here is another example of carved ivory Victoriana: this one is a singular flower, again, in high relief with great detail given to each portion of the piece. This one has the old "c-style" clasp on back. The brooch measures 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" and, actually, looks fine worn in either direction. Note the dimensional carving of the leaves and the cross-hatching on the flower; the leaf-collar that frames the posey stands out from the stem - excellent work.
