Ring was appraised by a certified G. I. A. Certified Graduate Gemologist with 38 years experience in emerald cutting and grading. A laminated copy of appraisal will accompany sale.
This circa 1960's iridium and platinum cut-out style reminiscent of the turn of the century is a 6 prong genuine Columbian Emerald ring that measures 7 mm in width, 7.6 mm in length, and 5.1 mm in depth. Ring is stamped IRID PLAT. The emerald is medium included, and is color zoned with a B1 general grade. Widest point of this ring is 10.75 mm and tapers down to 1.6 mm. Total weight of this ring, including the emerald, is 5.4 grams. Stone looks to be about 3 carats, however stone was not taken out of ring to weigh. Size is 4 1/2.
Emerald is the gemstone for May, and is part of the beryl family. Emerald is known as the stone of Peace. It is a soft and gentle healer. It gently balances the energies of the spirit. This stone helps to knit back together that which has become undone.
