Provenance: From a private house in North Wales (along with matching photo frame item #260).

Pokerwork, also called pyrography, is surface design which is created through burning the decoration with a piece of hot metal. The technique fit with the ideals of the reviving medieval craftsmanship and individual and handmade furniture as opposed to mass-produced, factory-made items, and pieces are often one-offs, like this piece.
