An extremely rare and elegant English late 18th Century Sheraton demi-lune console table with original floral painted decoration to top. Circa 1790. (base later)

This is an exceptional survival of English 18th century painted furniture. The demi-lune shape was a feature of the most elegant and refined period of English craftsmanship which has never been exceeded.

This piece would have certainly been made for a fine home in the Neo-Classical style of a wealthy gentleman which was being decorated and furnished in the up-to-the –minute style of Thomas Sheraton and Robert Adams. Homes of this period and style include Syon House, Osterley House and Kenwood in London.
