This is a lovely original painting on wood panel (the back side was previously painted as well. The painting is signed on the back but is difficult to make out as it has old paint on it. It is under glass and nailed closed so I do have reflection off the glass. I bought it from a woman from Russia. The detail in the textiles and the room is so rich it makes you feel you know these people. The furniture, the drapes, the bed clothes are all so realistic it makes me think this may have been painted in another century. I believe this is a "Pano" painting ... genuine painting on wood panels with a usual folktale depiction. The painting is in great condition & measures 8" x 10". The frame is wood & there are thin copper wires nailed diagonally across the 4 back corners. There is a wire hanger on the back so you can hang it immediately. The colors are so saturated on the wood; just amazing. Note: Is it just me or does the man in the painting look like Santa Claus? This would make a great gift.
