"Parrots of the World" by Joseph M. Forshaw, illustrated by William T. Cooper. There have been 7 different editions of this huge book and they are all out-of-print. Book was originally published in 1973. In 1977 TFH Publications with the cooperation of Doubleday published this 1977 edition that is distinguished by not having a dust jacket & improved ease of looking up the birds by expanded indices. This is a remarkable book on all species of Parrots (some of which are now endangered). Shows English names and Scientific names, nation of origin, anatomy of birds, diagrams, attributes and calls, nesting habits, descriptions of it's eggs and more. It was the first monograph on parrots published in over a century and is overwhelming in it's information provided. There are so many full page illustrations by William Cooper that are realistic and gorgeous to view. The book has a small tear in the left hand corner of the spine (does not go through book; see photo provided). Otherwise it would be in Fine condition. I've priced it accordingly. The spine is tight, the pages are bright and clean. No corners bent, no writing and no inscriptions. This is a lovely book. These photos do not reflect how fine the illustrations are in person.
