This piece of ephemera is a lovely example of period, well-rendered graphic design. There is a nice mix of medium strong full color with muted boundary lines and single motifs. This combination allows the two elements to play off each other in their contrast. For the bottle collectors, the content of this letterhead is interesting. It was common practice for newspapers to have give-away supplements, like paper toys, cut-out dolls, pretty pictures, etc. This log die-cut card of a burrow or donkey at the front door is marked on the front as a supplement. The subject matter is unusual. Possibly the image is referencing a children’s story. Excellent condition with a blank reverse.
