The glaze is a wonderful earthy green over a dark blue in stripes and the form is a small pitcher. It measures 2 ¼ x 4 ½ x 3 ½ inches. It is in excellent condition.

It was prized by the Maine family we bought it from and by family stories was carried from Pennsylvania to Maine when the family shifted to a farm here in the mid 1800s. This is a sweet yellow ware pottery piece. It is a duck on a basket base nesting. The duck and base are detailed and the basket has some brown glaze on the bottom. The duck is marked impressed into the clay PV 2318. The duck measures 6 x 4.5 x 3.5 inches. There is some light crazing, otherwise in excellent condition, no damage. This is a charmer and a very hard piece to find.

There is one small rim chip on the underside of the edge and four or five on the top very minor in the world of Majolica. Otherwise in excellent condition.
