Kingfisher Gallery offers moderately priced, decorative oils and watercolors that will delight your eye and engage your mind.
Chamunorwa uses an Expressionist style to portray the people of Zimbabwe in their daily pursuits. As opposed to the calm of Realism, his Expressionism attempts to create vivid emotional reactions through powerful colors and dynamic composition. He distorts and exaggerates his figures while using intense colour, agitated brushstrokes, and disjointed space.
James Chamunorwa was born 1971 in Zimbabwe [formerly Rhodesia] and studied art at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Mbare. He now lives in the Capitol Harare [formerly Salisbury]. He is a book illustrator, painter and sculptor. He exhibits throughout Zimbabwe, including the National Gallery. His works are sold in the USA.
