About Kingfisher Gallery

About Us
I am a retired professor who specialized in the cultural and artistic history of the ancient Mediterranean. I have been buying and selling art for 25 years through a shop in San Francisco and at Ruby Lane, as well as the prominent online auction [where I have a 1000, 100% feedback rating]. Although my inventory includes traditional American and European paintings, I favor the Modernist style which tends toward abstraction in both design and color. In any event, I believe absolutely that art is collected for enjoyment and not for profit.
