This is a Signed First Edition by Herb Caen. It is a Double Day & Company book from Garden City, N. Y. with copyright date of 1950. This is a vivid portrayal of San Francisco, the City By The Bay. Written and signed by Herb Caen who wrote a column for the San Francisco Examiner for many years. The jacket has some condition issues with wear and tears and does have one spot next to 1951 this looks like a drop of water, but the book itself is in excellent condition. It is tightly bound and has no tears or writing anywhere. The inside of the back cover has Paul Elder’s Books, San Francisco sticker.

This wonderful book needs to be treasured by someone who appreciates the rich history of San Francisco. It is filled with Herb Caen’s outstanding ability to capture the diversity of this wonderful city.
