Cat-Tail Grill Plates. Set of 7 Grill Plates made for Sears, Roebuck & Company by Universal Potteries of Cambridge Ohio from 1934 to 1956. These grill plates were found in my husbands Aunt’s kitchen cabinets. They are really great . There are 4 in great shape with no chips or cracks. The other 3 all have small flaws, 1 has crazing in the glaze, 1 has a few brown spots that are in the making and the 3rd one has a chip on the edge (I try to show the chip in 1 of the photos, the crazing does not show). The color’s are great in all of them with no fading! This set of 7 plates are really great buy for someone. They are 9 3/4 inches with three divisions. Information is from Kovels Depression Glass & American Dinnerware 5th Edition 1995. They are listed in the 1995 book for 25.00 each and I have seen them sell for that and more. At 150.00 it is like getting 1 for free.
