Queen Elizabeth I became Queen of England in November 1558 at the age of 25.
She was the last Tudor monarch and is recognized as a highly successful ruler. Her reign, which ended with her death in 1603, was a “Golden Age” in "Elizabethan Era" English history.
Known by her subjects as Gloriana and Good Queen Bess, Elizabeth was immensely popular. She was known for wearing elaborate gowns that featured embroidery and opulent jewels.
This Barbie doll pays homage to this extraordinary monarch. She is dressed in an Elizabethan style gown that was inspired by a 1592 painting (the Ditchley Portrait) by Marcus Gheeraerts the Younger.
A wide collar frames her face and faux pearls highlight the bodice. Elaborate jewelry, crown and delicate fan are the perfect regal accessories.
According to Mattel's tier system, this doll is a "Gold Label" collector doll.
