Striking Colorful Old Majolica Vase with Flower Frog

The vivid colors of yellow, blue, green, aqua and traces of brown in this old vase are typical of old Majolica pieces - it was the tin in the glaze that gave this pottery it's brilliance.

This great squatty vase will especially appeal to you with the “shabby chic” or cottage style decorating or just who love the bright coloring of these old pieces.

The sides of this vase show impressed stylized designs of leaves or petals arching up with colorful streaky glazes of yellow, blue, green and brown dripping down it’s sides. The interior is of aqua as is the attached flower frog.

Although unmarked, the coloring is typical of the old Majolica pieces.

Measurements: Approximately 7” in diameter by 3-1/2” tall. There is some light chipping to its leaf petal trimmed edges, the largest of which is 1 cm., which is also typical of these old pieces. There is one larger chip that is to the underside of the rim that measures 1".
