Welcome to my shop! I have experience with pottery, books (and cats) and hope I can help you find what you're looking for!
Although unmarked except for the number 234 impressed into its unglazed yellow bottom, I could not find a similar piece in my reference books, although this is similar to some old UHL and Bauer pieces.
This marvelous old pitcher measures 6 1/2 inches high, 5 inches across the bottom and 7 1/2 inches across the top including handle.
This pitcher has been used there are some chips around the spout measuring 1/2 cm's and one glaze miss towards its bottom, along with a couple small glaze "dings" measuring 1/4 -1/2 cm across and the glaze 'pops' very typical of old salt glaze pottery - but no hairlines.
This old pitcher comes straight from S. Carolina and has been lovingly used -- you can just see grandmother pouring her milk out of this in the morning! A charming addition to any country or primitive antique decor!
As always, thanx for shopping Katiques, and please take the time to see my happy customer testimonials on my "about me" page!I
