WHAT IS A RAIN CHAIN? Something you hang from the gutters on your house and the rain falls down it and it looks pretty ...." That is the explanation the salesperson in the artsy little store in Rhinebeck, NY, gave me when I asked her what an interesting item hanging in the shop was and what it was for. Hmmmmmmm. A collection of rings and chains and other small charms and niceties the ultimate purpose of which is to look pretty. (And maybe direct the rain.) And that's how I came up with the idea for a series of miniature rain chains to be worn just to look pretty on your lobes, your neck and your wrists.

These earrings are made with artisan lampwork circles in a pale, pale amethyst the color of dawn. They are paired with handmade hammered sterling silver "diamond-shaped" rings. Their focal point is a gleaming sterling teardrop that is handwired to the base for a bit of swing. The teardrops are capped with tiny vermeil cubes.

Very different and very striking. Can't you just see the drops of rain making their way down?

Lightweight & nicely sized for comfortable wear. Lobe descent: about 3 inches from your piercing.
