La Rose Sentimentale

What a romantic and rich, Victorian-style design. What a labor of love this one was. The rose portion was very difficult and time-consuming, I think due to the irregular shape--or that I was having an "all thumbs" day ;)

The rose was fabricated with 18 gauge wire and then soldered closed and hammered for texture and strength. It was then coiled with 28 gauge wire and then woven and decorated with faceted rhodolite garnet rondelles. The larger oval beads are prasiolite (green amethyst), and they have a special step-cut faceting---breathtaking!!! The shaded green stones in the bottom cluster are faceted green tourmaline rondelles. All gems are high-quality.

All of the little ball head pins were hand made by me too! I was so excited to be able to make my own, so I went wild with it! At the end of the chain is a sweet little prasiolite onion briolette. The chain is a flat cable chain which is large enough for the clasp to hook on to any link desired, and the clasp is handmade hook-style with a coiled wire embellishment. Handmade components are so fun to make and add a little extra-specialness to a design.

Next came the oxidizing and hand polishing. It brings out the wire-work and adds that antiqued look that looks so nice with the intricate wire pieces.

All metal components are sterling silver.

Measurement: Adjustable between 16 and 18 inches with the extra length on the chain. Re-sizing is available at your request.
