Hattie Carnegie Egyptian Revival Scarab Pin ~ This incredible pin or pendant is a highly sought after Hattie design. Her Egyptian Revival pieces were some of the most fabulous designer jewelry ever made. The use of bold enamels in red, cobalt, teal and green is a very appealing combination she used as a theme in may of here Egyptian pieces. This large scarab is polished gold metal with three red plastic molded cabs for the body. The scarab is flanked with gold metal cobras with inset enamel decor. Above the scarab are hieroglyphic symbols on a tablet. It measures 2 1/4" tall by 2 1/4" wide and is signed Hattie Carnegie on her trademark oval cartouche. The back has the original bail for a chain, and the original safety clasp however the safety section of the portion that turns is missing. With only light wear, this piece is in very fine condition.
