Unique Bakelite Necklace ~ A very uncommon piece of Art Deco jewelry ! This large medallion has two red, two yellow, and one blue circular bakelite pieces connected by a gorgeous gold gilt stamped metal centerpiece. This centerpiece is a monolithic cross medallion. These bakelite pieces have passed the semi-chrome and hot water tests proving them to be true phenolic jewels. The chain is big and chunky and is made of large gold gilt brass links decorated with red garnet rhinestones. The necklace measures 13 1/2" long and the cross medallion is 5 1/2" long by 3" wide. The clasp is very nicely composed and works very well. Overall the necklace is in very good condition except for a little wear on the chain from age but nothing detrimental to the look of the entire necklace.
