A very nice piece of McClelland Barclay jewelry that was made in the Art Deco period between 1936 and 1940. This item is amazing being composed of a fine gold plated metal which forms a foundation having a floral motif to it. The gold plated metal makes up what appears to be three leaf designs that are very well done having grooves in the appropriate places to make them look very realistic. Each leaf design is topped with a screwed on piece of rhodium plated metal which contains a number of pave set white rhinestones of all different sizes. These rhinestones still glisten after all these years and none of them are missing or darkened. The back of this brooch has a wonderful pin and locking "C" clasp that holds securely and the signature "McClelland Barclay" is inside of a rectangular cartouche as well. The pin measures 2 3/4" long by 2 3/4" wide and is in great condition with only a bit of wear to the gold plated metal finish. A very nice piece of McClelland Barclay jewelry.
