Averill Bonnie Babe in in a sought after 17" tall size, circa 1926 by the Alt, Beck & Gottschalck Porcelain Factory, with cloth body by the K & K Toy Co., and distributed by George Borgfeldt & Co., New York.

Perfect bisque head of superior quality, with crooked open/closed mouth smile with two lower teeth and bisque wobble tongue. Modeling and decoration is of the highest quality with pale brows, individually painted upper and lower lashes, accented nostrils, and shaded lips. No chips, cracks or repairs to the beautiful head.

Marked: "Copr. by//Georgene Averill // 1005/3652//Germany //1386/45". Original cloth body has original composition arms and legs. The composition limbs show crazing and some flaking which is seen on 90% or more of these dolls and is expected. Typically when the limbs are not crazing or flaking, they have been repainted and these are the original finish.

The doll is an excellent example with head of superior quality, in terrific condition, and originality, right down to the possibly original romper, socks and moccasins.
