Final Offering Sale Price ~ Stunning early German bisque fashion doll with swivel neck on bisque shoulder plate, 14" tall, circa 1870s to 1880s.

Gorgeous, pale, creamy, bisque, beautifully painted with almond-shaped eye-cuts which are outlined, individually painted upper and lower eyelashes, accented eye corners, French thick wispy brows, open/closed mouth with white space between the dramatically accented lips. The extremely deep blue spiral-threaded paperweight eyes, are blue and have deeper blue outlining around the irises. Her ears are pierced and have blue earrings.

Back of head is incised "5", and we have not disturbed the kid torso which covers shoulder plate marks (if any at all). She retains her original, thick plaster pate, and honey blonde mohair wig.

Her original kid, gusset-jointed body, has beautiful bisque lower arms (one thumb missing) and feet of canvas. Body has original finish, no sawdust leaks, and no patching.

Doll has her likely original undergarments, replaced black knit stockings, and replacement satin and lace gown in period style.

Very lovely early fashion doll, clearly made to compete with the pricier French fashion dolls of the era, at a much lower price.
