CHOICE Kestner so-called "Sammy" character baby, 18" tall, marked "K made in // Germany 84 // 211 // J.D.K" (see photo of mark), with original wig, plaster pate, and pristine original body finish.

German bisque socket head with fine modeling and decoration, threaded blue sleep eyes with original sleep set and lid wax in outlined eye cuts with individually painted upper and lower lashes and red eye corner accents, two lower teeth, accented lips and molded tongue, sweet cheeks with dimples, double chin, defined temples and wispy brows. A beautiful face with the creamiest of bisque. Original mohair wig has never been removed, nor has the original pristine plaster pate.

The five piece composition baby body is the finest original condition we have ever seen. Even the joints show no wear and the finger and toe lines are still there.

The wonderful windowpane checked romper is one piece, though it buttons together at the waist in back for ease of dressing and undressing. The romper is tagged with a label with patent dates in 1918, 1921, and 1924. Surely it has been with this baby for 80 years or more.

Condition: Excellent++; no chips, cracks, or repairs to the bisque head or the composition body. We consider this doll to be in pristine original condition.

Choice original condition Sammy, the best you could possibly find if you searched for a lifetime.
