The modeling of the head is superior, as is the artistry of the painted features. She has shaded blue eyes with partial outlines, raised white highlights, painted black lash lines and red lid lines, medium brown eyebrows, accented nostrils and eye corners, and darker red separating line between the lips.
The deeply sloping shoulder plate has two sew holes in front and in back. The is a tiny corner crack on the back left corner by the sew hole that was cleanly broken off and cleanly glued back together long ago. The is no other damage to the plate and there is absolutely no damage or repair to the swivel head. We have left the thin velvet neck band in place, but have raised it a bit in the photos to show that there is no damaged concealed beneath it.
This is a very pretty, feminine face with shapely head and shoulder plate. The doll when on an appropriate antique body would measure about 16-17" tall. The doll's value, if complete with proper human hair or mohair wig and antique costume, would be more than comparable dolls from the same era due to it's rarity. (Please refer to Item #C-T088)
