Unique and unusual - reminiscent of an Amazonian rainforest. Incredibly detailed work from Karen Lewis at Klew Expressions in polymer clay is the inspiration for this necklace and earring set. Take a close look at these "beads" - these beauties are created by layering colors of polymer clay to create the look - just impossibly to imagine the work involved!!! And Karen is the master of this technique! Metallic gold and black were used as the background in a swirling checkerboard pattern. Layered into this is one leaf in deep forest greens and blacks, accented with a vine and purple/lavender flower bud. (I can't even imagine how she achieve the dotted detail around the flower bud!). The pendant drop is decorated on both sides - front and back! Just amazingly technically perfect work! Accenting this oval pendant are two large "leaf pods". In the same purple and lavender, accented with black, these are created by layering the leaves over a core. Accents are the same leaves in purple and lavender with black accents. A touch of metallic gold accents the edges. An absolutely stunning collection of miniature art! For a rich fall look, I used natural brass in all the components - filigree tubes, round and square beads, hammered ring and chain. The length on the necklace is 24" - extra long so you can wear this as a longer pendant, or with the trigger clasp you can clasp anywhere along the chain to fit any outfit! The drop on the pendant is 3". The matching earrings carry out the same theme and are hung on brass ear wires. The drop on these is 2". (If you prefer gold filled ear wires, I can change, no problem). A just spectacular set to create a real statement!
